Case Study - Precept Ministries International

The Challenge

What started out as a Bible study class in a living room (and then in old barn), has grown to become Precept Ministries International, a flourishing organization whose programs of faith and spirituality reach more than 100 countries around the world.  Up until recently, their TV and radio production tools were housed in cramped facilities, operating for a number of years with antiquated analog production platforms.  It was time for this international broadcast ministry to make the leap to the new century, but the project schedule allowed only three months from concept to construction (would it take a miracle?).

The Solutions

Precept turned to BLUEHAT DESIGN for complete design/build services for their new world communications center.  The facility incorporates four non-linear edit suites with a 40x60 broadcast studio, video and audio production control rooms, graphics production and closed-caption authoring systems.  Radio studios and control rooms were also designed and constructed with consideration for “live radio for TV” production.  Custom consoles, all facility infrastructure, and master clock, reference, routing, intercom and QC systems were provided.  The entire facility infrastructure was prefabricated and tested at the BLUEHAT DESIGN facility in Norcross, Georgia prior to shipment to the job site.  BLUEHAT DESIGN provided the engineering expertise, the integration, full systems testing and commissioning, and client training.  This was a comprehensive project that required strict attention-to-detail and continuous client contact.

The Reviews

Despite a furious pace and major time constraints, the facility was delivered on-time and on-budget.  Precept Ministries International is now able to deliver high-quality programming efficiently throughout the world.  And as they grow, their communications facilities are prepared to grow with them.

Joe Sindorf, the Vice President of Media and Technology at Precept Ministries International, set some tough standards for the project, and BLUEHAT DESIGN came through.  “They put in writing that they would meet the deadline, and provided a Gantt chart to show how they would do it,” Mr. Sindorf commented.  “This project is something that I can be proud of for a long time.”  It is clear that Precept Ministries’ faith in BLUEHAT DESIGN was well rewarded.
